Thistle's undercoat plaster is a gypsum-based, internal basecoat that's used to build up the desired thickness of plaster. It prepares walls and ceilings prior to skim finishing and is also ideal for smaller patching repairs or filling chases. It's suitable to use on a range of surfaces including brick, block, plaster, tiling or low-suction backgrounds.
You'll find this mix is quite fine, so it spreads and smooths out like a dream, making it easy to rule and darby. Because it's gritty, it'll provide you with a mechanical key for skimming. When used in conjunction with Thistle Finishing Plaster or Gyproc EasiFill, you'll get a smooth, high-quality surface to internal walls and ceilings that's durable and resistant to knocks. It can easily be painted over too, so there's no extra step needed before you can complete your decorating task.
